Minutes
Present: Board members Asmus, Bruce, Carter, Chamberlin, Fleischer; Administrators Aubin, Gersen (12:57), Williams; and 12 members of the public.
1. Call to order
Chair Fleischer called the meeting to order at 12:53 p.m.
2. Update on 5th grade staffing
Principal Bruce Williams updated the Board on the health concerns of a fifth grade teacher and recommended that the long-term substitute be offered a contract for the remainder of the 2006-07 school year. He assured the Board that the substitute is a skilled and caring individual who will bring stability to the classroom. Parents expressed concerns that students are falling behind in their studies, and about the impact the instability in the classroom is having on the children. The consensus of the Board was to accept the Principal’s recommendation in order to create stability in the classroom.
3. Business requiring action
a. Board resignation
John Chamberlin moved and Nancy Carter seconded a motion to accept the resignation of Larry Pilchman with regret. The motion passed unanimously.
4. Adjournment
Kari Asmus moved and Nancy Carter seconded a motion to adjourn at 1:10 p.m. The motion passed unanimously.
The meeting adjourned at 1:10 p.m.
