NORWICH BOARD OF SCHOOL DIRECTORS

SPECIAL MEETING

WEDNESDAY, MAY 24, 2006

8:07 P.M., MARION CROSS SCHOOL LIBRARY

Minutes

Present:  Board members Cheney, Sachsse, Vitt, Williams; Administrators Gersen, Edson; and one member of the public.

1.      Call to order

         Chair Sachsse called the meeting to order at 8:07 p.m.

2.   Business requiring action

         a)      Nominations

         Eloise Ginty

         Margaret Cheney moved and Stan Williams seconded a motion to elect Eloise Ginty as a one (1) year elementary teacher position at track 4, step 12, salary $59,244, for the 2006-2007 school year. The motion passed unanimously.

        

         Ellen Keogh

        

         Stan Williams moved and Geoffrey Vitt seconded a motion to elect Ellen Keogh as an elementary teacher at track 3, step 12, salary $57,825 , for the 2006-2007 school year. The motion passed unanimously.

         Maureen Iaccarino

         Margaret Cheney moved and Stan Williams seconded a motion to elect Maureen Iaccarino as a 50% kindergarten teacher position at track 14, step 4, salary $31,396, for the 2006-2007 school year. The motion passed unanimously.

3.         Executive Session in accordance with Title 1, Section 313 for discussion of a personnel matter.                                                                                                     

         Stan Williams moved and Geoffrey Vitt seconded a motion to enter executive session in accordance with Title 1, Section 313 for discussion of personnel matters at 8:18 p.m. The motion passed unanimously.            

 

4.      Return to public session

         The Board returned to public session at 9:14 p.m.

5.   Adjournment

         Margaret Cheney moved and Geoffrey Vitt seconded a motion to adjourn at 9:14 p.m. The motion passed unanimously.

The meeting adjourned at 9:14 p.m.
