SPECIAL MEETING

Present: Board members Asmus, Bruce, Callaghan, Carpenter, Chamberlin, Gray, Rose, Sachsse, Vitt, and Williams; Administrators Gersen and Aubin. Recorded by R. Lohr
1. Call to order – Superintendent Wayne Gersen called the meeting to order at 6:34 p.m. and opened nominations for officers. Linda Gray nominated John Chamberlin for Board Chair and the nomination was seconded by Kari Asmus. The Board voted in favor of the nomination unanimously. Chair Chamberlin then opened nominations for Vice Chair. Kari Asmus nominated Geoffrey Vitt for Vice Chair and the nomination was seconded by Robin Carpenter. The Board voted in favor of the nomination unanimously. Nominations for Secretary were opened and Mary Sachsse nominated Marjorie Rose for Secretary. The nomination was seconded by Cary Callaghan and the Board voted in favor of the nomination unanimously.
2. Business Requiring Action
Superintendent Gersen nominated Joanne Roberts as Assistant Superintendent of Special Services after citing her qualifications for the position. The Board asked to be given a copy of the contract for the position to view prior to the next meeting.
A motion was made by Linda Gray and seconded by Robert Bruce to elect Joanne Roberts as Assistant Superintendent for Special Services, salary $83,000 for the 2007-2008 school year. The motion was passed unanimously.
Chair Chamberlin requested Board members to submit their evaluations for the Superintendent.
3. Nonpublic Session
A motion was made by Linda Gray and seconded by Kari Asmus to enter nonpublic session in accordance with RSA 91- A:3 for discussion of personnel matters. The motion was passed unanimously.
Roll call was conducted and the Board entered nonpublic session at 6:41 p.m.
4. Adjournment
A motion was made by Linda Gray and seconded by Kari Asmus to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously. The SAU # 70 Board meeting was adjourned at 6:41 p.m.
