Minutes of meeting July 12, 2006

DRAFT 8-10-06

1. The meeting convened at 3:30 PM in the SAU offices

2. Present: D. Gillespie, B Hammond, N. Carter, W. Gersen, B. Bruce, K. Asmus, J. Assmus, B. Bender, R. Carpenter, M. Caldwell, M. Rose, T. Blinkhorn, P Tierney

3. The minutes of the meeting of  June 15, 2006 were approved by consent

4. W. Gersen reported that School Boar members have received redacted and unredacted versions of the open-ended comments to the surveys. W. Gersen has synthesized the open-ended comments into one page summaries which do not include individually attributable negative comments. All comments have been reviewed with the respective principals

5. The process going forward was discussed.

   1.  The summaries will be posted on the website.
   2.  Redacted versions of the comments will be available at the SAU office
   3. A consensus was reached that follow up work should be done on those negative comments that only a few responses discussed if the topic was deemed important
   4. There was consensus that responses to concerns should be communicated to parents. The method was undefined
   5. The results of  a student-conducted survey correlated very well with the on-line survey per B. Hammond.
   6. Letters to the local newspapers editors will be prepared

2. Indicating results will be posted on website
3. Indicating there will be future surveys
4. Full (redacted) results are available at the SAU office
5. The administration and School board will be reviewing the results
   
6. The meeting adjourned at 4:50
