Proposed Comparative Districts

by Wayne Gersen, 3/30/2007

I chose the 17 out of state schools from the Menchick study, attempting to find districts of comparable size. I chose Bow and Souhegan (Amherst, NH) from New Hampshire because they scored 2nd and 3rd on the assessments used in the UNH study. I chose Oyster River because like Hanover, Durham is an affluent college town. The lists follow:

Connecticut

  • Avon
  • Brookfield
  • Weston

Maine

  • Falmouth

Massachusetts

  • Harvard
  • Norwell
  • Wayland
  • Westwood
  • Winchester

New Hampshire

  • Bow
  • Souhegan
  • Oyster River

New Jersey

  • Berkeley Heights
  • Hopewell Regional
  • New Providence Borough
  • Princeton Regional
  • Springfield Township

New York

  • Irvington
  • Rye City

Rhode Island

  • East Greenwich Schools
