Sub-committee Expectations

Organization:

  • Each sub-committee is comprised of representatives from the constituent groups that comprise the committee: teachers, students, administrators, parents Board members, Finance Committee members, and community members. Each person on the sub-committee is a liaison to their constituent group and should develop a means of communicating with that group about the work of the QED Committee.

  • Each sub-committee will identify a Chairperson/Facilitator to develop and transmit the agenda, arrange for the meeting site, post the meeting, and assure that minutes are posted on line and circulated among committee members and the QED “co-chairs”. The Chairperson/Facilitator will meet periodically with the QED co-chairs to ensure a clear and common direction among the sub-committees.

  • Each sub-committee should also identify a secretary to take minutes at each meeting and notify those absent of the next meeting date at the earliest time possible.

  • Committee representatives from the school administration will ensure that documents are printed and copied. All web postings should be sent to me or to Bill Mlacek, QED web master.

Work Process:

  • Each sub-committee will develop a means of systematically collecting information outlined on the attached sub-committee “Work Sheet” from all appropriate constituent groups in the most effective and efficient way possible. To avoid “survey overload”, it is recommended that canvassing be cleared through the QED co-chairs.

Work Product:

  • At the conclusion of this review process, each sub-committee should prepare a 3 to 5 page document that summarizes their findings and offers recommendations to the entire QED Committee. Once all sub-committee work is completed we will prepare a final report to the SAU Board.
