Given the proximity of several Dresden fields to the High School,
and the fact that the survey indicated a preference for having
game fields be near the High School, the AFC is committing a
great deal of time looking at how the current field configuration
can be revised and developed to maximize the Lebanon Street
field space.
Below are the reports of subcommittee meetings to date:
Meeting
of April 11 This talks about the effect of the construction
and staging are on the current fields at HHS, the need to
include neighbors in the planning process, and the introduction
of the issue of turf and lights.
Meeting
of April 25 This report outlines the findings generated
from a walking tour of the property, outlines more detailed
considerations regarding turf and lights, and introduces concerns
about the current track.
First Report
to AFC regarding 3 options to consider (Early May 2005).
Three options for constructing fields at the HHS site are
outlined, including the pros and cons of each. This is a
work in progress; as the options get fleshed out and we learn
more, most likely they will be modified. So keep in touch.
Speaking of works in progress....
3 Options,
Revised, based on the input from the meeting
with the Hovey Lane neighbors, more meetings of the Lebanon
Street Site commitee, and cost input from Buildings & Grounds
and the SAU Office (Late May 2005). Keep in mind that these
are still drafts, and we're happy to
hear from you about it! (fields@valley.net) .
Our
final recommendation. This has alot of the background
material, and on pages 31-34, you will see a comparison of
the different options considered.
