Our Collective Resources
In his report of the Athletic Fields Survey, Bob Sokol commented,
" If there is one single resounding clarion call that emerges
from this survey of Dresden District citizens, it is: FOR GOODNESS
SAKE, SHARE THE FIELDS! The AFC is taking this sentiment very
seriously, and the Sharing Subcommittee has spent countless
hours examining how Dresden can work with the towns to maximize
the use of existing resources.
We will be adding documents that demonstrate what sharing
is already taking place, and what types of collaboration we
are working on for the future. Here's a start:
• Sharing
of Athletic Fields. These are some conclusions we've come
to after hours of exhaustive scrutiny of the availability
of and need for playing fields by the schools, town, and community.
• The Minutes
of the AFC meeting on March 1 include the reports
to the AFC from the Towns and College regarding the pressures
on their programs, their ability to make long-term committments
to Dresden, and what types of sharing already take place.
