First Amendment & Constitutional Rights Lecture - Hanover High School
Hanover High School Social Studies Department will be hosting Vermont Law School and Graduate President Rodney Smolla on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.
President Smolla (BA Yale, JD Duke) is a nationally recognized legal scholar and practitioner. Prior to this, Smolla served in numerous roles including as the 11th President of Furman University, Dean of the Law School at Washington and Lee University Law School, and as the Director of the Institute of Bill of Rights Law at the College of William and Mary. Smolla is a nationally-known scholar on matters relating to constitutional law, civil rights, freedom of speech, defamation, and mass media. Smolla has published over 10 books and over 100 articles in law reviews and other publications. Smolla remains an active litigator, appearing as counsel/co-counsel in numerous cases before state and federal courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States.
