SAU 70 Announces New Principal for Bernice A. Ray School

HANOVER, NH - SAU 70 and the Hanover School District are pleased to announce the appointment of Kelly Moses Pease as the new principal of the Bernice A. Ray School, effective July 1, 2026.

Pease brings a strong background in elementary instruction and school leadership.  Most recently, Pease served as Director of K-5 Teaching and Learning and Intervention Services at Lake Washington School District in Redmond, Washington. She strengthened student-centered instruction with principals and instructional leaders to establish a shared vision for high-quality teaching. Pease oversaw universal screening for fifteen thousand plus students three times per year to achieve  exceptional K-8 literacy and math outcomes. Pease started her career at the Indian River Middle School in West Canaan, N.H. and served as a Literacy Coach,  Assistant Principal and Principal in various states.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kelly to the Bernice A. Ray School,” said Robin Steiner, Superintendent of SAU 70. “ Kelly’s passion for elementary education, dedication to students, and collaborative approach make her an excellent fit for this role and school community.”

Kelly holds a Master of Science from California State East Bay.  She is committed to fostering a nurturing, inclusive environment where all students feel supported, engaged, and inspired to learn.

The selection process included input from staff, families, and community members, whose feedback played an important role in the decision.
