Safety

The safety of our students and staff is one of our highest priorities.  Our schools' safety protocols are based on and conforms to the Incident Command System.  The Incident Command System is a standardized all-hazard incident management system, that enables our schools and community partners the capability to work together on organizing resources, staff, and facilities, in an effort to efficiently and effectively respond to an event outside of the normal operations of the organization.

While our planning and prevention system is not new, we hope sharing the basics of our school plans will help parents and guardians understand some common terms used in our schools.

Communications

Important: To ensure timely communication with families in the event of an emergency, it is critical that families keep emergency contact information up to date.  If your information has changed since registration time, make sure to contact your school so your student's record can be updated.

During a crisis, SAU 70 may communicate with families through email, text (to those that opt in), and phone dialer, as appropriate. The fastest and most effective of these, during an active situation, is text message. Families must opt in to receive texts.  simply text “Y” or “yes” to 79041.  Your opt in will not work if your cell phone number is not accurate in your student's record.
